Housing Choice Voucher
The Lebanon Housing Authority (LHA) administers the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program for the City of Lebanon, Kentucky. Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) are funded by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Eligibility for the HCV program is determined by family size and total family income.
Currently, the waiting list for the LHA Section 8 HCV Program is “Open”. This means that LHA is accepting applications for the waiting list. When vouchers become available, the LHA selects applicants from the top of the waiting list. We do not have “Emergency” housing vouchers.
Important: For Section 8 HCV applicants only. As per our Section 8 Administrative Plan, any person or family is welcomed to apply for the Section 8 HCV program, but please be aware that our agency provides a “Residency Preference” for those families that are current residents of Marion County, KY. This means that any Marion County resident will receive a higher placement on the waiting list than non-Marion County residents.
After being approved and issued a voucher, the family selects a housing unit within the city limits of Lebanon, KY to be rented. The unit may be a single family home, apartment, duplex, mobile home or other type of quality housing. The unit selected must not exceed the Section 8 payment standard and meet housing quality standards. The unit must pass an inspection performed by the LHA Housing Inspector. Section 8 participants will pay rent based on 30% – 40% of their annual adjusted income.
Please be advised that Section 8 voucher holders will likely be required to pay rental deposits, utility deposits, etc.
